The McDonald boys basketball team barely squeezed past Youngstown Christian, 46-44, during the Division IV District Finals at Struthers High School.
Mathias Tayala led the Blue Devils with 15 points, followed-up by Devin Bansburg with 10. John Pecchia led the Eagles with 13 points.
This was only Youngstown Christian's second loss of the season. They ended with a 21-2 record.
McDonald advanced to Regional Semifinals where they will face the winner of tomorrow's Zanesville Bishop Rosecrans vs. Shadyside match-up. The Regional matchup is slated for 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at Canton Memorial Fieldhouse.
