Scrappers Win Home Finale

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers (38-34) topped the Williamsport Crosscutters (42-31) by a final score of 8-3 in the Scrappers final home game of 2011. A three-run third inning catapulted the Scrappers to victory.

Jake Lowery led the Scrappers offense with three hits, including his team-leading sixth home run of the season. Lowery drove in three runs, and Scrappers starting pitcher Danny Jimenez had all the support he needed in collecting his fourth win of the season. Jimenez is 4-3 with the victory; he lasted six innings, giving up two earned runs and striking out three Williamsport batters.

The Scrappers close the season with a pair of road games agains the Jamestown Jammers on Friday and Saturday. The team is mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.
