Mahoning Valley Scrappers
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers saw their late rally spoiled in a 4-3 loss to the Williamsport Crosscutters Sunday night at Eastwood Field.

Chase Burnette committed two errors in the ninth inning that led to the eventual go-ahead runs for the Crosscutters, when Jim Klocke ripped a pinch hit two-RBI triple to put Williamsport back on ahead.

The lone bright spot offensively for the Scrappers was Carlos Moncrief, who hit his second two run home run in as many days, to give Mahoning Valley a brief 3-2 advantage.

Dale Dickerson blew the save in the ninth, suffering the loss for the Scrappers.

Chase Johnson came in from the bullpen for the Crosscutters and picked up his first win of the season. Jake Borup notched the save for Williamsport.

The Scrappers drop to 12-18 on the season, and will play the final game of this three-game series tomorrow night at Eastwood Field. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
