Former Indian CC Sabathia and current Indian Lonnie Chisenhall are among the team's top draft picks that have been sent to begin a professional career with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. Add one more to that list- the Indian's top pick in the June Draft.

Seventeen-year-old Francisco Lindor made his pro debut at shortstop with the Scrappers on Sunday night when they took on the Jamestown Jammers.

With the Scrappers trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the first, Lindor comes to the plate. In his first at bat, he chops one in the ground. The catcher can't field it cleanly and there is no throw, so Lindor tallies his first pro hit.

A couple batters later, Todd Hankins drops one into shallow center, scoring Jake Lowery and Francisco Lindor to tie the game at 2.

Lindor went 1-for-3 on the night.

The Scrappers would go on to win 9-2, but Lindor was the real story of the night.

"I went out to shortstop. I was looking around to see all the fans. It felt great. I've never played in front of this many fans, but it's awesome. This is a great experience," stated Lindor. "I try to go out there and play like I'm 27 years old. I try to play like a veteran. I might not be it, but I try to play like a professional baseball player, not like a high school baseball player."

There were 3,550 fans in attendance at Eastwood Field to see Lindor's debut.
