The left arm of Michael Rayl and a big swing from Diego Seastrunk made the Scrappers a winner in their return to Eastwood Field.
Seastrunk launched a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to put Mahoning Valley ahead to stay in a 4-2 win over the Batavia Muckdogs on Wednesday. The homer was his 4th of the season.
Brian Heere also drove in a run while Carlos Moncrief collected a pair of hits.
Rayl (1-4) kept the Scrappers in it with 6 strong innings, allowing only 2 runs on 4 hits with 6 strikeouts.
The same two teams will meet again on Thursday.
