The Mahoning Valley Scrappers (38-34) topped the Williamsport Crosscutters (42-31) by a final score of 8-3 in the Scrappers final home game of 2011.

Anthony Noreen, the Youngstown Phantoms’ new head coach, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch at Eastwood Field on September 1 for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

The Scrappers came back from an early 1-0 deficit but fell behind and lost to the Williamsport Crosscutters.
