Heather Manoski had 18 kills and Claire Ferrando added 31 assists as Western Reserve defeated Mathews, 3-1 to claim the Division IV District Championship at Lisbon. The Blue Devils took games one, three, and four (25-19, 25-22, 25-23). Mathews took game number two (25-20). Claire Ferrando had 7 points and 10 kills to go with her 31 assists. Victoria Brown had 8 points, 11 kills, and 4 blocks. Hannah Shrader added 4 blocks and 3 aces. Mathews was led by Brooke Pregibon who had 12 points, 22 digs, and 10 kills. Megan O'Dell had 12 points, 16 kills, and 6 blocks. Kayla Manz had 28 assists and 1 ace. Jonna Omerz had 35 digs and 1 ace. Jessie Gearhart had 4 blocks and 1 ace. Mathews finishes its season 22-3. Western Reserve improves to 23-2. The Blue Devils will play Newbury next Thursday at Twinsburg in the Regional Tournament. Game time is set for 6 pm.
