Girard's volleyball team is headed to the Division III regional semifinals, after a 3-1 win over Springfield Wednesday night.
Brooke Schrieber led the Tigers with 10 kills. Gabby Fellows added 9 kills, and Kylie Kohler had 5 kills. Katie Kennedy served up 15 points, and Jessica Evan dished out 31 assists in the loss.
For Girard, Bryanna Jay had 26 kills and 9 blocks. Callie Jay added 22 kills and 13 digs. Morgan Walters dished out 55 assists and served up 14 points with 5 aces, and Kara Miller added 7 kills and 11 blocks.
The Indians advance to the Barberton Regional, where they will face the winner of Kirtland/Gilmour Academy on November 2 at 7:30 p.m.
