Wilmington's softball team fell short in its bid to advance to the Class AA, PIAA State Championship falling to Osceola, 10-0. Emily Romeo had the only hit for the Greyhounds. She als made the defensive play of the day. With one out and a runner at third, Romeo snagged a fly ball for the second out and fired home to double up the runner bringing an end to the second inning. The Mounties had already done some damage up to that point. Osceola plated three runs in the first inning to go with single runs in the second and third innings. The deficit stayed at five until the fifth inning. Osceola scored five runs to end the game in the fifth inning. The Greyhounds had lost the season opener before ripping off 23 straight wins and a berth in the state semifinals. Wilmington finishes its season 23-2.
