The Wilmington Greyhound softball team will begin their trek through the 2010 PIAA Class AA Tournament on Monday against Sto-Rox in Erie at 3 PM. The Lady Vikings won their first round contest a year ago over Chestnut Ridge, 7-4. Sto-Rox won the 1989 Class AA Championship by defeating South Williamsport, 2-0, in Altoona.
The winner of the Wilmington versus Sto-Rox matchup will play against the winner of the Chestnut Ridge-Valley contest in the quarterfinals.
Last year's Class AA champion, Bald Eagle, did not qualify for the PIAA state tournament. However, the runner-up, Brandywine Heights did qualify and will be playing against Central Columbia in the opening round.
