Urusline only needed one inning, and two runs to advance past Wellington, 2-1 in the Division III Regional Semifinals. Seven pitches were thrown in the top of the 1st inning, until the rain started to pour. After an 83 minute rain delay, play resumed. The Irish scored both of it's runs in the bottom of the 1st inning, the first on a passed ball, the second on a wild pitch. The offense for both teams was quiet until the 5th inning, when Wellington scored it's only run on an Ursuline throwing error, to make the score 2-1.
Ursuline's Casey Lower earned the win, allowing only two hits, and striking out seven batters.
Ursuline advances to the Division III Regional Finals on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. They'll face Northwestern.
