Champion's softball team captured the Division III State Championship with an 11-2 win over Baltimore Liberty Union Saturday afternoon; a victory that also successfully completes the Golden Flashes' bid for a perfect season.  The club finishes with a 27-0 mark after the title-clinching performance in Akron.

Lindsay Swipas struck out 10 batters as the winning pitcher for Champion, while she helped her own cause with an RBI as well.

The Champion offense took control of the game when a 10-run fifth inning earned the team's 11-2 advantage.

Tawny Rogers was 3-5 with three triples and four RBI.  Haley McAllister was 4-5, and Emilee Hohvart drove in three runs in the offensive explosion.

Also driving in runs were Sierra Blackson, Brooke Culler, and Taylor Petersal.
