Winning has become routine for the Poland softball team.

This years team is dominated by seniors and sophomores who have been playing together since Little League.

"Yeah, we've played with each other since we were 8, 9, 10 years old," sophomore infielder Jenna Modic said. "They're all family to me. It's unbelievable to have this experience and share everything with them."

The Bulldogs are prepping to return to the State Tournament Thursday. This team won a combined four state titles before they were teenagers and was one win away from going to the Little League World Series.

"It's truly a program thing," Head Coach Reid Lamport said. "It's not a one season thing, or even just a high school thing for us. Our youth program is really good."

While it's natural that their success has carried over to the high school level, the team admits chemistry has played a roll in this year's fortune.

"We really don't have any drama on our team, and that's nice not to have," sophomore pitcher Erin Gabriel said. "We're 16 girls--teenage girls--and not have drama is pretty amazing for us. We all jell really nice."

The Bulldogs' state semifinal game is set for Thursday afternoon at Akron's Firestone Stadium. They'll take on John Glenn High School from  New Concord.
