MyValleySports.com held its 6th annual Big 22 banquet on Wednesday night at Antone's Banquet Center in Boardman. Around 200 players, coaches, and family members were on hand as the Big 22 players of 2011 were honored. Also recognized on Wednesday were the 5 Blocks of Granite and the Coaches of the Year.
Below is a list of this year's winners, along with their achievements this season:
1. Anthony Abeid - (SR) Youngstown Christian
- 172 carries for 1,389 yards
- He holds six school records
- 1st team all-state on defense, with 7 INTs
- finished without a fumble
2. Austin Barbato - (SR) Columbiana
- 1,014 yards passing
- 1,335 yards rushing
- 24 total touchdowns
- 42 tackles & 4 INTs on defense
3. Nick Blower - (JR) Crestview
- 1,872 yards rushing
- over 600 yards rushing in playoffs
- 20 total touchdowns
4. Donnie Bolton - (SR) Western Reserve
- led the Valley with 2,572 yards rushing
- scored 29 touchdowns
- averaged over 10 yards per carry
- 11 sacks on defense & 1st team all-state
5. Devin Campbell - (SR) Boardman
- 1,314 yards rushing
- 431 yards receiving
- accounted for 21 touchdowns
- 2nd team all-state in Division I
6. Jeff Clegg - (SR) Western Reserve
- 1,956 yards passing
- 500 yards rushing
- 29 touchdowns
- 3 INT's on defense
- 1st team all-state in Division VI
7. DeShawn Coleman - (JR) Hickory
- 2,393 yards rushing, which is a school record
- 34 total touchdowns, which totaled more than 40% of team scoring
- averaged over 14 yards per carry in regular season
- helped earn 1st District Ten title in 20 years
8. Jesse Curry - (SR) Ursuline
- holds school records for tackles with 390 in career
- 150 tackles last year, which is also a school record
- 7th all-time in career rushing with 2,195 yards
- Division V All-State Defensive Player of the Year
9. Ahmad Eggleston - (SR) Girard
- 1,826 yards rushing
- 336 yards receiving
- 36 total TDs
10. Anthony Franco - (SR) Lakeview
- played in 8 games because he suffered a broken hand, and still led the league in passing with 1,690 yards
- 524 yards rushing
- 20 total touchdowns
- 2-time winner of Big 22
11. Dan Graziano - (SR) Girard
- Easily led the Valley in total yards
- 1,961 yards passing
- 1,881 yards rushing
- accounted for 43 touchdowns
- only threw one interception
- nearly 9 thousand total yards in his career
- 2nd team all-state
- 2-time winner of Big 22
12. Roosevelt Griffin - (SR) Cardinal Mooney
- 1,506 yards rushing

- first sophomore invited to Big 22 banquet
- only lineman receiving the Big 22 award this year
- graded out over 83 percent, with 27 pancake blocks
- 4-year starter
- 3 years all-state, and 1st team all-state this season
- verbally committed to Penn State

- led team in tackles with 11 per game

2. Dan Moody - (SR) Howland
- played a few different positions on offensive line
- blocked for a team that led the AAC Red in rushing
- 4.0 student, and is headed to Harvard next year
3. Tyler Powell - (SR) Western Reserve
- 6'3", 320 pounds
- graded out over 90 percent blocking
- helped block for league leading rushing attack
4. Billy Price - (JR) Fitch
- graded out over 86 percent
- played defense as well
- recorded 40 tackles, 10 for loss, with 3 sacks and 1 INT
5. Austin Trgovcich - (SR) Cardinal Mooney
- graded out over 91 percent
- on defense, he had 89 tackles, 19 for loss, with 9 sacks
