Shaker Heights posted a 61-58 victory over Harding Friday evening in overtime. The Red Raiders (5-0, 11-1) have won five straight since falling in the Brunswick Holiday Tournament Championship on December 28 to the host Blue Devils, 56-54, in overtime.
Shaker Heights started the contest with a 12-5 lead after the first quarter. Harding rallied in the second frame to outscore the Red Raiders 15-10 to enter the intermission down by only two points, 22-20.
Behind by nine (42-33) entering the final eight minutes, Harding forced the extra session by outscoring Shaker 18-9. In overtime, Louisville recruit Terry Rozier and the homestanding Red Raiders defeated Harding, 61-58.
In the Red Raiders’ first meeting of the year against Harding on December 16, Shaker won 60-50 despite 14 points from Harding’s Delshawn Bell.
Harding (3-2, 7-3) has failed to register a victory in two of their last three games. The Raiders will conclude their four-game road stretch at Warrensville Heights on Tuesday.
Danny Young’s Red Raiders will travel to Maple Heights on Tuesday to take on the Mustangs.
