Springfield Claws the Rams

The Tigers scored the games' first twelve points en route to their twelfth victory of the season over Mineral Ridge, 90-49.

Springfield led after the first eight minutes, 20-5. The jungle cats outscored Ridge, 19-2, in the second frame to enter the intermission up 39-7.

The Tigers had four players score in double figures led by Nick Russell who had 16. Eoghan Bees added 14 with 6 assists. Joey Ohlin and Tom Mastran had 12 and 10, respectively.

The Rams have fallen to Springfield each of their last five meetings. The Tigers improve to 12-2 overall and keep their Upper Tier first place status (9-1). 
 
In their first meeting of the season on December 16, Ron Rogers tossed in 4 of 6 from three-point range for 25 points and Tom Mastran added 17 in Springfield’s 78-47 win. The Tigers will host Crestview on January 31.
 
Mineral Ridge (2-7, 4-9) has now lost four of their last five. The Rams will make the trip to Columbiana to take on the Clippers on Tuesday.
