West Middlesex is in the hunt for a District Ten championship.
Last week, the Big Reds notched its first playoff win in five years and now look forward to meeting Mercer for the second time in the last three weeks. The Mustangs rolled to a 42-6 win in week number nine, but, the Big Reds have three district championships to their name in the last ten years, and they'll take their chances in the second go-round.
"Playoff time, the intensity is definitely there," said West Middlesex head coach Jason McElhaney. "Nobody remembers what you do in the regular season. They only remember what you do in the playoffs, so we can erase that loss a couple of weeks ago real quick with a great effort Friday night."
"They're a avery good team," stated junior Austin Mirizio. "They have a really good offensive line, running back. They're coached well. It's gonna be a pretty good game. I don't think it will be anything like the last game."
The West Middlesex and Mercer rematch will be on Friday at 7 p.m. at Slippery Rock University.
