Many have forgotten that the Rams were soundly defeated in their first two games of the campaign (vs. Campbell & LaBrae) by a combined score of 102-7. How times have changed. Mineral Ridge has run off three wins in their last four games prior to Friday night's encounter at United. The Rams were still mathematically alive for a playoff spot with a showdown against Columbiana looming in week ten.

However, Ridge had to post a victory over United to keep those hopes alive. The Eagles had other plans as they turned back the Rams, 40-21. United (3-6) had lost four consecutive home games before Friday night. The Golden Eagles have defeated Mineral Ridge three of their last four matchups against the Rams.

United will try and end the season strong with a battle with Springfield next Friday.
