Sharpsville came away with a 65-58 victory over Mercer Friday night in high school boys basketball action.
Mercer took the early lead with a score of 22-18 at the end of the first.
The Blue Devils outscored the Mustangs 19-7 in the second quarter, giving them a 37-29 advantage at the half.
The Mustangs could only cut into that deficit by one in the final two quarters.
Sharpsville had three players in double figures in the win. Luke Vasconi led all scorers with 19. Paul Klenke added 18; 12 of those points were off his four 3-pointers. Kevin Yarabenic also added 11.
Mercer's leading scorer was Nate Guiler with 13, while Logan Clarke added 11 in the losing effort.
Sharpsville stays home to take on Seneca, Saturday, February 4 at 2:30 p.m.
Mercer's next game is home against Greenville on Tuesday, February 7.
