At the conclusion of the 2008-09 season, the Bears had posted an 11-11 mark and finished third in the Lower Tier of the ITCL. Since then, Leetonia has closed out their last two campaigns in last place and have compiled a 5-36 record.

Coach Mark Taylor is hopeful this season will be different as they return literally the entire team from last year including seniors Cody Stokes and Nick Altomare. Stokes led the Bears with a scoring average of 16.0 while snagging 10.3 caroms per game. Altomare produced a 15.6 points per game average at the same time leading Leetonia in assists (3.2 apg). Junior Ian Sevenich scored 11.0 last winter. Ian’s classmates Cody Valentine and Ian Stecker both had impressive sophomore seasons. Valentine registered 124 points (6.2 ppg) and a 3.2 rebound average. Stecker stands 6’6 as he grabbed 3.7 boards and scored 4.4 points.

On December 2, Leetonia plays host to Columbiana.
