Franklin Pulls Away from Grove City

Franklin gains sole possession of first place in Region 6 after plucking Grove City, 63-48, Friday night. The Knights (5-0, 10-0) have defeated their league foes in each of their last 9 contests.

Franklin jumped out to a 5-0 lead but the Eagles scratched their way back to a 17-16 deficit after the first frame. In the second quarter, Grove City outscored the Knights 12-8 to take a 28-25 halftime lead; however, Franklin outscored Grove City 23-8 in the fourth quarter to stay unbeaten. Dillon King led the Knights with 20 points while Noah Jones added 14.

Franklin heads to Oil City on Tuesday to take on the Oilers.

Grove City (4-1, 9-2) suffered their first loss in their last nine games. The Eagles had won three of their previous four meetings with Franklin. Grove City was paced by Jordan Patterson who had 12 points.

Grove City has a big match up to prepare for on Tuesday when they travel to Meadville.
