Girard quarterback Dan Graziano was named this year's MyValleySports.com Big 22 Ohio player of the year.
"It means a lot. It's a lot of hard work, but I couldn't have done it without my line and my other teammates around me," said Graziano.
Graziano led the Indians to the Division IV regional finals. He had 1,961 yards passing and 1,881 yards rushing. He accounted for 43 touchdowns this season and threw just one interception.
"It's unbelievable, just because of his work ethic, just the way he instilled the leadership into our younger kids," said Nick Cochran, Girard head coach. "Somewhere, he's always gonna be there because of the leadership he put in this year."
Graziano was named second team All-Ohio this year and is a two-time winner in the Big 22. He was also named the Trumbull County player of the year.
"I just want to make a big play. Coaches teach you to take what they give you, but I like making the big play," concluded Graziano.
