After both teams stalled out on their opening drives, things heated up offensively for both squads. Norwayne's Adam Wallace put the Bobcats on the board first with a 13 yard touchdown toss to make the score 7-0.
Enter Crestview's Carter Hill. Hill led the Rebel offense to a 15 play, 80 yard drive eating up over seven minutes on the game clock. The Big 22 contestant capped off the majestic drive with his 13th running touchdown of the year to knot things up at 7.
On the next drive for Norwayne a 28 yard field goal attempt was blocked by Crestview and was returned by Andrew Mayer for a Rebel Touchdown making it 13-7 in favor of the black and gold. The point after was no good.
Just before half though, the Bobcats were threatening to tie the game when the Rebel defense forced a fumble, and recovered inside their own 5 yard line to preserve their lead going in at the half.
The Rebels came out the second half looking to add on to their lead, and did exactly that. Carter Hill wrapped up another long Crestview drive with a 6 yard toss to Kody Simpson to give the Rebs a 20-7 lead. The celebration was short lived though, as Adam Wallace connected on a screen pass to John Zimmerly that went the 56 yard distance for the Bobcats and turned it back into a one-score game.
In the fouth quarter it was Norwayne's defense that kept them in the game long enough to give the offense another shot to score, and they did just that to tie the game at 20. The Bobcats extra point team came on the field for a chance to take the lead, but it was the special teams of Crestview coming through again to block the point after, and send the game to overtime.
In overtime though, it was the Bobcats who would not be denied, as Adam Wallace called his own number for the game winner, and sends Norwayne to the next round of the playoffs by the final score of 26-20.
