Liberty senior Jaylen Mann scored a game-high 12 points in the Leopards 43-34 victory Tuesday night. Senior forward Jamaal Daniel chipped in 11 points.
Champion was led by senior Ryan Miller with 11 points. Clay Hall added 10 for the Golden Flashes.
Liberty plays host to Lakeview on Friday before starting a four-game road trip.
Champion will defend their home court against the Newton Falls Tigers.
