JFK Beats Springfield, Advances to Districts

Warren JFK advances to the girls Division II District soccer tournament, with a victory over Springfield, 4-1.

The Eagles took a 2-0 lead in the first half, before Springfield cut the score in half on an Ashlyn Italiana goal.  The score remained 2-1 headed into halftime. 

JFK added on two more goals in the second half.  Erin McBride scored off a corner kick by Jerrica Cooper.  It was McBride's second goal of the game.  Cooper also scored a goal of her own, to increase the Eagles lead to 4-1.

The Eagles keeper, Helena Demacopolous recorded three saves, while Springfield's Tiffany Johnson had 13 saves.

JFK improves to 16-1-1.  They advance to play the winner of Champion/Ursuline on Monday night at 7:00pm at Mollenkopf Stadium.

Springfield finishes it's season 7-6-4.
