The Lowellville Girls Basketball team outlasted McDonald 54-54 to advance to claim the Division IV District Championship at Hubbard Saturday.
Jamie Hynes, Emily Carlson, and Kaye Solak each tallied 14 points for the victorious Rockets.
McDonald likewise placed three players in double figures, and were led by Joh'Vonne Mosley's 18. Kaitlyn Rutushin and Taylor Stanley added ten points apiece in the setback.
Lowellville advances to Regionals where they'll face the winner of Mogadore/Cuyahoga Heights. The Rockets return to action Thursday night at Massillon Perry. Tipoff is slated for 6:15pm.
