The School Board announced Wednesday that Southern Local's new girls' varsity basketball coach will be Cory Leek (Class of '96). He takes over a program that finished 5-16 this past campaign. Leek played college basketball at tiny Olivet College (MI).
Cory's father, Terry, coached the Lady Indians from 1999-2001 and his granfather, Thomas, led the girls' basketball program in the 1950s.
Leek replaces Eric Sampson as head coach.
