Cardinal Mooney's eighth state title in school history may prove to be the most difficult ever gained. The Cards knocked off three undefeated number-one ranked teams in their region, by far the toughest route to a state title possible in the playoffs, and they were the only team in the state to do it.

"Man, this road to the state championship was tough, tough, week in and week out," said running back Roosevelt Griffin. "But we just got it done, and the feeling is so overwhelming right now. I just don't know what to say. I just thank God."

"Oh, just happiness," said quarterback P.J. Quinn. "Knowing that everything we worked for paid off in the long run is the best feeling in the world."

"It means a lot to me because my family, my dad was a state champ here back in 87, and it just feels amazing," said linebacker Courtney Love. "I can't really explain it. It's just the best right now."

"It just feels great just to be known as one of the greatest teams ever to play at Cardinal Mooney," said defensive back Joe Deniro. "You got a lot of great teams there, and just be known as one of them is a great feeling."

"Well, they're all special," said head coach P.J. Fecko. "Whether it's a one-point win, or a 50-point win, at the end of the day we're 2011 State Champs."
