Gator quarterback Matt Bodamer connected on five touchdown strikes against Clarion, as he threw for 380 yards. In 2010, Port Allegany was turned away by Curwensville 37-21 in the district championship contest. This year was much different as the Gators took down the two-time district champion Bobcats.

After losing the likes of Chad Piccirilli, Frank Joseph, Marcus Llewellyn, and Nate Titus from last year’s 10-2 team – many thought that this would be a rebuilding year of sorts in Sharpsville. They couldn’t have been more wrong.
On Friday, the Blue Devils advanced to the state quarterfinals after fending off a pesky West Middlesex bunch, 21-13. Three backs gained over 50 yards (Joey Pagliaroli, 71, Spencer Bland, 63, and Dersean Alberty-Brown, 53) and quarterback Jake Henwood tossed for 88 yards for the triumphant Devils. The win gave Coach Paul Piccirilli’s group their first district crown since 2004.
Sharpsville sports the 8th best scoring defense in the state.
Winner will play either Clairton (13-0) or North Star (10-1) in the Class A Western Finals.
