Mooney football standouts Zach Larson and Eric Franklin have verbally committed to play football at Youngstown State. Larson was a first team All-Ohio selection this season. He was recruited as an offensive lineman. Larson (6'3, 290 lbs) selected the Penguins over Kent State. Franklin (6'7, 310 lbs) was special mention All-Ohio. He played tackle for Cardinal Mooney. He, along with Larson, anchored an offensive line that led the Cardinals to their seventh state championship in school history. The pair joins Donald D'Alesio as the third senior to verbally commit to the Penguins program. National signing day is Wednesday.
