All-State football honors were released Thursday in Pennsylvania with four local players making the short list.

It should come as no surprise our Big 22 Player of the Year was All-State in Class AA. Hickory junior, 6'1, 190 pound DeShawn Coleman broke a school record with 2,393 yards rushing and 34 touchdowns. He averaged over 14 yards per carry.

Here's the rest of the kids who earned All-State honors:

Luke Patten, 5'10, 180 pound junior linebacker for West Middlesex qualified for Class A.

Matt Bell, 6'3, 280 pound senior lineman from Hickory qualified in Class AA.

Wesley Phipps, 5'9, 180 pound senior defensive specialist from Grove City, and Big 22 winner, Class AAA.
