Mike Mangiarelli is trading in his tiger stripes for bear skin.

The Howland Tigers standout made his college choice on Monday evening, giving a verbal commitment to the Maine Black Bears.

Known for his highlights runs on offense, Mangiarelli will actually play cornerback for the FCS school located in Orono, Maine.  Listed at 6'0'', 183 pounds, he was named All Ohio at defensive back for his senior season, and grabbed 14 interceptions in three seasons at Howland.

Mangiarelli was named All Conference and All County on offense after rushing for 1,200 yards and 22 touchdowns this fall.  He also has six kickoff return touchdowns in his high school career.

Youngstown State, West Point, and Air Force were the other finalists on his list, but Mangiarelli ultimately decided on Maine as his choice.

National Letter of Intent Signing Day is Wednesday, February 3rd.
