The Springfield Tigers are crowned the Inter-Tri County League Upper Tier champions for the first time in the league’s six-year history after tonight’s 46-28 victory over East Palestine. The Tigers have posted an 8-1 record at home and have won sixteen of seventeen games overall since their season opening loss to Brookfield.
Springfield scored the game's first six points; however, the Bulldogs would answer to take a 14-13 lead midway through the second quarter. The Tigers finished the half on a 8-1 run to enter the intermission leading by the score of 21-15.
Nick Russell scored 10 points and snagged 7 rebounds for the Tigers. Ron Rogers led all scorers in the game with 12.
Springfield (13-1, 16-2) will tangle with Western Reserve next Friday.

East Palestine, who had won the ITCL Upper Tier crown the past three seasons, falls to 7-6 in league play and 8-8 overall. The Bulldogs also saw the road record drop to 5-4. Jake DiCello led the visitors with 8.
East Palestine returns home to take on Lowellville on Tuesday.
