The Big Red earned a road victory over Kennedy this evening, 50-48, to take sole possession of first place in Region 1. West Middlesex (5-0, 12-4) has now won eight consecutive games since dropping a heart breaking last second loss (68-66) to East in the Dresch-McCluskey Holiday Tournament at Farrell.

Matt Dogan led the way for West Middlesex with 21 points and six rebounds.  Trey Staunch added 14 points for the Big Reds in the win.

The Big Reds have now come out on top of Kennedy in four of their last five meetings. Prior to the current streak, the Big Reds had dropped twenty-six in a row. Middlesex's head coach Chad Mild gained his win number 201.

Kennedy (4-1, 10-4) had won their previous seven contests before falling tonight to the Big Red.

Mac Hartman led the Eagles with 22 points in the setback, while Ken Fill tallied 15.

Last year, these two teams met three times with Middlesex prevailing in their District 10 playoff match up on March 1 (59-45).

Kennedy will take on Ursuline on Monday while Middlesex returns to action next Friday with a home contest against Vision Quest.
