White Sox Pick Todd Kibby

The Chicago White Sox picked former Springfield hurler, Todd Kibby, in the 37th round (pick #1131) of the Major League Baseball Draft.

The 6'4, 240-pound southpaw threw 69 innings this season, accumulating a 4.17 ERA, with a 4-4 mark and 71 strikeouts for the St. Petersburg (FL) Junior College Titans.

In the 2009 OHSAA Division IV State Semifinals, Kibby tossed a complete game win over Newark Catholic, 5-3, for Springfield. Todd struckout 8 batters that day only allowing 6 hits. The Tigers lost in the state championship to Patrick Henry, 3-1. Springfield compiled a 29-5 record in 2009.
