Homer Center squares off against Neshannock in the first round of the 2010 PIAA Class A baseball tournament at 4 PM on Monday in Indiana, Pennsylvania. The Lancers pounded the Coudersport pitching one year ago in the first round to a tune of twenty-two runs (22-12). Neshannock won the 2004 Class A State Championship with their win over Muncy, 8-4, in from Harrisburg's Commerce Bank Park.
Homer Center lost to eventual state runner-up Serra Catholic, 7-1, last year in the first round. The Wildcats played for the 2005 Class A championship against Christopher Dock. The 'Cats lost, 6-1.
The winner of the contest will play either Elk County Catholic or California in the quarterfinals.
The defending two-time Class A champion, Camp Hill, open the tourney against the District 5 champions.
