The St. Louis Cardinals chose 6'4 left-hander Bob Revesz as their 49th round (1489th overall) selection this evening in the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft. Revesz was picked in the 2007 draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates (27th round) but decided to attend the University of Louisville instead.
This past season, Revesz (1-1) made 22 appearances, pitching in 34 innings while collecting an earned run average of 2.38 for coach Dan McDonnell at Louisville. Revesz was the tenth left-handed pitcher that St. Louis collected over the three day draft.
At Grove City High School, Bob had a brilliant career posting a 16-4 record over the course of his past two campaigns as an Eagle. Revesz finished the 2007 season with a 9-1 mark and a ERA of 1.04 as a senior.
