Eddie Rohan Drafted by the Mets

The former three-time All-Steel Valley honoree, Ursuline's Eddie Rohan, was drafted by the New York Mets in the 50th round (#1512) of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft.

Rohan was one of four catchers that the Mets took in the three-day draft. Eddie led the Winthrop Eagles this season in batting average (.342), base hits (68), homeruns (5), RBIs (38), slugging percentage (.492), and on-base percentage (.442).

Number 9 became the first player in Winthrop history to be recognized with an All-Big South Conference honor in each of his four seasons.
