Southington 2010 graduate Brandon Ellis (P/3B) has signed on to play for Allegheny College next spring. Ellis' Wildcat team lost in the Division IV District Championship, 13-12, to Cuyahoga Heights on May 21. Southington's baseball team is coached by Brian Iceman.
In 2010, Allegheny (NCAA Division III) finished the campaign with a 25-15 mark. Head coach Kelly Swiney's group posted a 12-4 (2nd in East) record in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Ellis will join area native Mark Stanovcak (Liberty) on the Gators' baseball roster in March 2011.
