Trgovcich, Bell Headline YSU Recruits

Two local standouts will continue their football careers under Eric Wolford at Youngstown State. Cardinal Mooney's Austin Trgovcich and Hickory's Matt Bell will compete for early playing time on the line with eight other incoming recruits.

Trgovcich was a first-team Division III All-Ohio selection as an offensive lineman and named one of the Five Blocks of Granite by MyValleySports.com honoring the top offensive lineman in the Youngstown area. He was also a first-team All-Northeast Inland District honoree. Cardinal Mooney won the Division III State Championship in 2011, defeating Shawnee 21-14 in title game. Trgovcich had six tackles, including a sack for a six-yard loss in the championship contest. He finished the season 11-3, after anchoring an offensive line that rushed for over 246 yards per game.

Bell was a first-team Class AA All-Pennsylvania selection as an offensive lineman. He was also named one of the Five Blocks of Granite by MyValleySports.com. Bell was also a first-team All-District 10 and a first-team All-Region 3 All-Star selection. He graded out at 94 percent on the line for the season. His offense averaged 35.8 points per game. Bell averaged 11 tackles per game on defense, and in 2011, Hickory advanced to the Class AA state quarterfinals losing to Tyrone Area. Hickory posted an 11-2 overall mark, winning the District 10 title for the first time in 20 years. As a junior, the Hornets were 9-3 and finished second in Region 3, District 10. Bell was a three-year starter on the offensive and defensive lines.
