Sharpsville handed Lakeview their first loss in Region 2 with their overtime 58-56 victory tonight. The Blue Devils (4-3, 11-8) have won six of their last seven contests.

With under a minute left to play, Lakeview's Derek Giovenga hit a clutch three-point basket to tie the game at 44. In the closing seconds, Sharpsville's Tyler Luchey missed a deep three-pointer, which would have given the Blue Devils the win in regulation.

Sharpsville scored the first ten points of the extra session to take a 54-44 lead; however, back came the Sailors as the league leaders registered the next nine points to close the gap to 54-53.

After two makes from the charity stripe for the Devils, Dalton Boggs connected on a three-point shot to tie the game at 56 with under ten seconds left.

Tyler Luchey then raced the length of the court to bank in the game-winner as time expired, 58-56.

The Blue Devils travel to Greenville to take on the Trojans on Friday.

Lakeview (6-1, 14-5) had won their previous six games. On Friday, Lakeview travels to Wilmington for the opportunity to clinch at least a share of the conference title.
