Newton Falls Boys Beat LaBrae in OT

The Newton Falls boys will advance to the Regional Semifinals after winning the District Final against LaBrae, 50-45 in overtime, Saturday at Howland High School.

Newton Falls was up by three at the end of the half. The tides turned in the third, leaving LaBrae ahead by two.

The game was tied at 39 at the buzzer. Newton Falls rallied in overtime and outscored LaBrae 11-6.

Mitchell Czerniak led the Tigers with 12 points, while Cody Dillon and Brian Sole each chipped-in 10 points. Matt Szorady carried the Vikings with 13 and Jacob Jaros followed-up with 12.

Newton Falls is slated to play East Canton at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Canton Memorial Fieldhouse.
