Mathews Outlasts Wellsville in District Semi's

No. 1 seeded Mathews overcomes a two game deficit to beat Wellsville, 3-2 in the Division IV District volleyball tournament at Lisbon.

Megan O'Dell and Sara Hewitt lead the way for the Mustangs with 15 and 10 kills, respectively.  Senior setter Kayla Manz recorded 50 assists.  Brooke Pregibon added 19 points, and libero Jonna O'Merzo had 36 digs. 

For the Tigers, Sarah Drysdale had 20 kills and four aces.  Shantae Dillard added nine kills.  Noelle Amato had 38 assists, and Emmalee McIntosh had four blocks.  Wellsville finishes their season at 15-11. 

Mathews improves to 22-2 and advances to play Western Reserve in the District Finals on Thursday at 7:00pm Lisbon High School.
