Victoria Galbreath is a defensive specialist for Lakeview's volleyball program, but team player may be a more fitting title.

"You only have six players on the court. You have to know each other well and be able to get long with them or else it's not going to work," says Galbreath.

A two-year letter winner, she primarily spends her time passing the ball from the back row. Galbreath puts more stock in the relationship she has with her teammates than she does personal achievement.

"I could tell them anything, and they come to me with anything they have problems with related to school, boys, or whatever. It's great. We get along so well, and we know we're there for each other and always have each other's backs," continues Galbreath.

But her responsibilities in the fall aren't limited to the gym. Galbreath does double duty on Friday nights. She's a cheerleader and plays clarinet in the marching band.

"My grandma always played the piano. I started playing when I was four years old. I've always had a love for music naturally. I wanted to get involved with all the people that love sharing that same experience with music," adds Galbreath.

In the classroom, she has a 3.8 grade point average, but what she enjoys most about school is volunteering as a tutor for middle school students in the Bulldog buddies program.

"I can reach out to them, and they know I'm there for them. It's so nice to see that achievement in their eyes and pride in themselves to know they can do that if they push themselves."
