Western Reserve's runs towards a state title continues on Saturday night. The Blue Devils will meet Buckeye Central in the final-four. This week's Student Athlete of the Week has had plenty to do with that success.
"Sports is what I live for and always has been," Benyo said.
That's why Thomas Benyo plays three of them. Football, basketball, and baseball. He's a four-year letter winner in each sport and has earned conference honors in all of them as well.
"I love to be competitive and win. Winning always thrives me and motivates me. Last year, unfortunately, we had a bad basketball season, and I hated it. I hated every minute of it, and I wanted to win, and it killed me. So, when you do win, you gotta take advantage of it and appreciate it more," he added.
The Western Reserve senior also appreciates what it's like to get good grades.
"You have to work on both. When it's football time, it's football time, but when it's time to work on your school work, you have to work on your school work," said Benyo.
Thomas is a member of the National Honor Society, carrying a 3.2 gpa and ranking 25th in his class.
"I like getting good grades, and getting that A is more important than pretty much everything, except for maybe this, but when I get that A, I feel pretty good inside," Benyo said.
For getting As in the classroom, and on the field, Thomas Benyo is our Student Athlete of the Week.
