Brian Austalosh has been golfing since he was 7 years old.
"A lot goes through your mind actually. Sometimes you have a bad shot, then you're worried about the next one. But, you just got to get past it, get on to your next shot, and play your game by yourself," says Austalosh.
The Campbell senior is a four-year letter winner and an all-conference selection. Austalosh consistently shoots a 36 on nine, which helped him become a regional qualifier.
"They say I have a two or three handicap, which is better than some people, but not the best you can be. I'm a real good iron player, so my irons will get me to within a few feet and can make a putt from there. I'd say I'm a pretty good golfer."
He's also a pretty good student. Brian holds a 3.95 grade point average and is ranked first in his class. He's also vice president of the National Honor Society, vice president of the French Club, and a member of the Business Club and Chemistry Club. Brian is also the male social chair of the senior class at Campbell High School.
"I try to sleep in as long as I can, and then rush for school the next morning. Sometimes I don't get my breakfast or anything, but studying comes first, and if I have to put off golf, I'll put off golf."
