The Youngstown State baseball program will host an elite summer prospect camp in conjunction with Pastime Tournaments and Silver Spikes on Aug. 22-23 at Eastwood Field in Niles, Ohio.

The camp will be a two-day event for high school players to showcase their talents and receive instruction from area college coaches. The first day will be a combine, and the second day will be for games.

"We're excited and honored to be hosting this caliber of a camp at Youngstown State and Eastwood Field," YSU head coach Rich Pasquale said.

The Silver Spikes camps are held at some of the top Division I and minor league facilities across the country. College and major league scouts will be in attendance. Players will participate in timed 60-yard dashes, infield/outfield sessions, batting practice and games.

The cost for the camp is $215, and space is limited to the first 150 players who register and submit payment. To register, visit silverspikes.com and select "Ohio (Youngstown State University)" in upcoming clinics.

University of Pittsburgh head coach Joe Jordano will serve as the lead instructor, and Pasquale will be the secondary instructor. Pasquale was an assistant coach under Jordano at Pitt from 2000-02. Other scheduled instructors will be from Duquesne, Seton Hill, Kent State and Akron.
