Brandon Summers tossed four touchdowns as Youngstown State rallied to defeat Austin Peay, 38-21. YSU trailed 14-3 in the second quarter before starting the comeback. Summers hit Andy Colgrove in the back corner of the end zone as the Guins cut the deficit to four, 14-10. On the Governors next possession, YSU defensive back Bryan Gaiters intercepted a tipped pass. That set up the go ahead score as Kevin Smith scored a seven yard touchdown run. YSU led 17-14. Summers took over in the third quarter finding Donald Jones on touchdown throws of 20 and 18 yards. The Penguins pushed the lead to 31-14. Jones finished the day with 6 receptions and 82 yards to go with the two touchdowns. After Austin Peay pulled to within ten, Summers capped the scoring with a 16 yard touchdown pass to Dominique Barnes. Summers finished with 232 yards passing and four touchdowns. Kevin Smith led the Guins on the ground with 116 yards rushing. YSU improves to 1-1 and travels to Northeastern next week.
