Youngstown State's quarterback competition now has an entry from the Big 10.

Former Purdue QB Najee Tyler tells My Valley Sports he will sign his transfer papers on Tuesday and join the Penguins. He will have four years of eligibility remaining.

Listed at 6'5'', 235 pounds, Tyler redshirted in 2009. Coming out of Xaverian High School, he earned Brooklyn Player of the Year honors after completing 160 of 306 passes for 2,300 yards and 23 touchdowns and only six interceptions his senior season.

Tyler will battle Gannon Hulea (Poland), Marc Kanetsky (Hubbard), and Kurt Hess for the starting quarterback job in the fall for first year head coach Eric Wolford.
