Astros Pick Jacke Healey in 27th Round

The Houston Astros chose Youngstown State's shortstop Jacke Healey in the 27th round (813th pick) of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft this evening.

Healey led the Penguins in homeruns (12), runs batted in (59), triples (2), runs scored (63) and base hits (83) in 2010. The former NJCAA All-America second-team selection as a member of the Potomac State Catamounts hit .356 this past season. Healey finished the year with a seven-game hit streak. 

The 6'2 senior hails from northeast Pennsylvania in Tunkhannock. He lettered all four years at Lackawanna Trail High School. He was the Lions' team captain as a junior and senior.
